FIRST WEEK OF PRACTICUM (ROS)

WEEK 1

The first week of the internship was normal, nothing to expect to be honest.All i have to do is do a good job on my internship and just leave like nothing happen. To be accepted at SK Convent Bukit Nanas (1) does have that image where its not that approachable for some people, at least for me.

On my first week at school, we need to do school orientation program (SOP) or rancangan orientasi sekolah (ROS) we are allowed to roam around the school, going on a tour to figure out where is the library, canteen and even classroom since the building are all connected with SK Convent Bukit Nanas (2) and SMK Convent Bukit Nanas, which night make the first timer get confuse and lost.

THe first week of my practicum was normal, nothing bad happen yet . As i got myself a very kind hearted and nice mentor and most of the teacher here are nice and quite friendly. The only hard part is that im having a hard time to communicate with the other teacher as my social skills are very low.

12 SEPTEMBER 2022

Started my practicum  at SK Convent Bukit Nanas (1). We have to arrive at school before 7 AM said by our lecturer and i was the first one to arrive than my other practicum friends. A teacher approach me and asked me of how she can help me in grumpy tone, at least for me, or maybe i must say i was nervous at that moment since it was that obvious i look lost as my friend hasnt arrive yet and i dont know where to go. Not knowing fact that the teacher that approach me was the principal of the school. It really caught me off guard as i didnt expect that the first person  would interact with in this school was the principal whixh is Madam Indhrani. We met and had a briefing session with sebior assistant of the school which is Puan Zaliza and Madan Indhrani assigned a teacher as my mentor which is Cikgu Eswary and we all did met Puan Hamizah as well which is the co-curriculum teacher of the school

 

13 SEPTEMBER 2022

The second day of the school, we had a day where we're handling student Year 6 selling item for fundraising such a pastries, cookies, there are even handmade ja and at the same time there are some thing are store bought, i did help them on how to attract the customer to buy their stuff as i do have the experience in f&b. It was quite fun, as the teacher and student are all supportive by buying the item that was sell by the year 6.

14/09/2022

On the third day of the practicum, we have sports day practice. Each of the team are being assigned to practice 1 sports at a time which is high jump, long jump, throw bullt and running. Me as a blue house teacher are being assigned to take care of the high jump sections with another blue house teacher in turn

i got hurt while trying to take of the student safety. THe ole of the high jump can be angerous as it could hit the student while if they fail to jump pass over the pole. Some student do get hurt, i am still trying my best to take care of their safety.  It's also been a long time since i played sports, its really giving the nostalgia feeling back when i was active in sports in high and primary school.

15 SEPTEMBER

It is the fourth day of the practicum. We had opening ceremony for Hari Malaysia. tHe principal gave out speevh and they even told the students of what kind of competition were there during Kemerdekaan month where they can join, like drawing, poem, colouring. 

In the afternoon i was watching my mentor Cikgu Eswary handling the student for the Choral speaking for international level, they were so good at it. I heard that for region level in Choral speaking, my school got number 1 in whole kl. Thats why they are taking part of international level. The competition was held in Johor, believe it or not they got number 2 in 13 school that participated in choral speaking international level. My thoughts on this, this school do be really active on any types of competition that were held, from cocuriculum to academic, most of them are active and do participated in those competition, that's why i think Convent had that kind of image where they need to taken care and maintain and as they are really go for the win for everything.

- Public Holiday ( Malaysia Day )

S - I be able to adapt to a new environment and how to handle students during an event

W - im stil having a hard time to communicate with the students and the other teacher

O - I seem approachable for student since i am practical teacher that they're curious about who i am

T - Students love to hugs me to the point it can be seen that i have no bounderies with the students
